Water Treatment Systems

By reducing scale buildup, chlorine, and chloramine, our in-line water treatment systems prevent costly repairs and time-consuming foodservice equipment cleanings in the future.

Product Info

When it comes to the performance and longevity of your steamers, water quality is a critical consideration. Water chemistry has a significant impact on the operating efficiency, service requirements and life of your steamer. By reducing scale buildup, chlorine and chloramine, these in-line systems prevent costly repairs and time-consuming major commercial foodservice equipment cleanings in the future — and with easy-to-install cartridges with no tools required, it’s never been easier to maintain optimal water quality in your Groen steamers.

These systems only require a simple wall mounting and minimal access to plumbing. Whether you use the SmartSteam Pro steamer, the boiler-based HyPlus, the generator-powered HyPerSteam, or the CNEB/CNGB boilers, there’s a configuration that perfectly complements your existing kitchen equipment. Our water treatment cartridges provide up to six months of treated incoming water and guard against the accumulation of calcium, iron, magnesium and more.

Every Groen water treatment system and cartridge is made by a water treatment system specialist and backed by Groen’s reputation as an industry leader in innovation and quality. With careful attention to detail and intuitive features, like a clear filter bowl that visibly indicates the level and condition of remaining treatment chemical inside the unit, Groen water treatment systems are an essential add-on to any Groen steamer.

In certain circumstances, OptiPure OP Series systems are recommended when your water quality is not within Groen Water Quality Guidelines. As stated in the Water Treatment Selection Guide for Groen steamers, OP systems utilize reverse osmosis (RO) to remove the majority of the total dissolved solids (TDS) from water, including chlorides, chloramines and hardness minerals. Then a balance of minerals is introduced into the pure water to provide desirable “optimized” water with a stable, non-aggressive nature that can significantly reduce water-related equipment problems including scale and corrosion. Groen convection steamer water usage, and the coldest incoming water supply temperature for the year, must be obtained in order to accurately size your OP system.
